ALI NAVIA MS CCC-SLP

My name is Ali Navia, and many of my families and clients call me “Miss Ali”. I am an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist.

I received my Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Seton Hall University and am licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I have extensive experience working with the pediatric population across a variety of settings, including hospital outpatient, public and private school-age (Pre-k through 12), and the early intervention system (birth to 5 years old) of Philadelphia.

I evaluate and treat in the areas of language delays, expressive and receptive language disorders, speech sound production, peer and adult social interactions, fluency and feeding.

My completed professional trainings include:

  • PROMPT: PROMPT is a tactile-kinesthetic (touch and feel) approach where an SLP places his/her hands on the client’s face to guide his/her jaws, lips, and tongue to move correctly to form words.

  • SOS Approach to Feeding: A transdisciplinary program for assessing and treating children with feeding difficulties.

  • PECS Level 1: The Picture Exchange Communication System® (PECS®)

  • DIR Floortime: Developmental Individual-difference Relationship-based model (DIR) Floortime is an intervention that is used to promote an individual's development through a respectful, playful, joyful, and engaging process. It uses the power of relationships and human connections to promote engagement, communication, positive behaviors, and thinking.

  • Hanen More Than Words®: A family-focused, social-pragmatic intervention program. The goal is to empower parents to become the primary facilitator of their child's social communication development and maximizing the child's opportunities to develop social communciation skills in everyday situations.
